FDA Addresses Cancer Risk for Children Taking Arthritis Meds

Children suffering from such ailments as rheumatoid arthritis, inflammatory bowel disorder and Crohn's disease could be at risk for cancer if they take certain drugs for an extended period of time. The Food and Drug Administration plans to enhance the warning labels on medications known as tumour necrosis factor blockers, because in research findings they increased children and adolescents' risks for developing certain kinds of cancer.
